Job Description – Physical Education Teacher (PET)

Position: Physical Education Teacher (PET)
Department: Academic – Sports & Physical Education
Reporting To: Principal / Head of Department – Physical Education
Location: Tirupati

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, and deliver physical education programs that promote physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students. The PET is responsible for conducting sports activities, maintaining student participation records, and ensuring safe and effective use of sports facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Physical Training & Curriculum Delivery:
• Conduct daily physical education classes as per the timetable.
• Implement structured sports and fitness programs aligned with school objectives.
• Ensure students’ physical activities are age-appropriate and inclusive.
• Sports Events & Competitions:
• Organize inter-house, inter-school, and intra-school sports events.
• Identify and coach talented students for zonal and national-level competitions.
• Maintain inventory of sports equipment and ensure their proper upkeep.
• Student Health & Safety:
• Promote safety practices during all physical activities.
• Report injuries or health issues immediately to the concerned authority.
• Encourage good hygiene, sportsmanship, and discipline among students.
• Coordination & Documentation:
• Coordinate with class teachers, academic heads, and management for sports scheduling.
• Maintain attendance, performance records, and activity reports of students.
• Support annual day and other school events requiring physical coordination or displays.
• Professional Conduct:
• Maintain punctuality, discipline, and a positive attitude towards students.
• Participate in school meetings, workshops, and training programs.
• Uphold the values, mission, and reputation of Velammal Nexus.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed / D.P.Ed) – mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as PET in a recognized institution (CBSE/Matric preferred).
• Strong command over games, athletics, and physical fitness drills.

Skills Required:

• Effective communication and motivation skills.
• Ability to manage large student groups with discipline.
• Knowledge of first aid and injury prevention.
• Team player with positive attitude and adaptability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
