Phlebotomist / Home Collection

As a Phlebotomist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure excellent patient service through home collection. It is crucial to check and carry all materials necessary for home collection, ensuring that the collection is done on time and reports are made available as per the patient's request. You will be required to collect samples as per client requirements, including nasal/throat swabs for tests like H1N1 and Covid-19. Upon reaching the patient's home, you must fill and cross-check the Test Requisition Form (TRF), ensuring that essential details such as patient name, signature, specimen type, required temperature, clinical information, collection time are accurately recorded. Additionally, the patient's height and weight should be noted strictly on an SOS basis. Some tests may require the client's/patient's consent form to be filled, such as Triple test, Double test, Histopathology, and HIV testing. It is essential to prioritize the patient's comfort before proceeding with sample collection and adhere to phlebotomy protocols for patient identification, primary labeling, order of draw, etc. Safety measures and precautions, including wearing gloves, masks, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, must be strictly followed. Prompt data entry is crucial upon reaching the lab, ensuring that samples are separated, aliquoted, labeled, and dispatched to different departments accordingly. Daily cash handling should be done responsibly by handing it over to the designated person. You should ensure that the Phlebotomy room and bag are prepared and ready for the next day's appointments. Coordination with logistics and emailing departments for report deliveries to patients is also part of the job scope. For home collection duties, it is essential to monitor the scheduler regularly, checking for any upcoming visits, tests, addresses, or area-related queries. Additionally, sending an indent monthly to the logistics/materials department is required. Compliance with the company's information security policies, standards, and specific instructions is mandatory. Operating information systems in line with applicable standards, including information security policies, classifying information, implementing appropriate controls, and reporting security incidents promptly are vital aspects of the role. Qualifications required for this position include BSc MLT/DMLT, and freshers are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time job opportunity with benefits including Provident Fund.
