Job Description

Key Responsibilities of a Phlebotomist: Patient Identification and Preparation: Verifying patient identity and preparing them for blood draws, potentially managing their anxiety or fear of needles. Venipuncture and Capillary Puncture: Performing venipuncture (drawing blood from a vein) and capillary puncture (drawing blood from a finger) using appropriate techniques. Sample Handling and Labeling: Accurately labeling blood samples with patient information and preparing them for transport to the laboratory. Specimen Integrity: Maintaining the integrity of collected samples by following proper handling procedures and adhering to isolation protocols. Documentation and Record Keeping: Accurately documenting patient information, collection times, and any relevant observations. Communication and Collaboration: Explaining procedures to patients, answering their questions, and collaborating with nurses and other healthcare professionals. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that phlebotomy equipment is properly maintained and sterilized. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines, such as those from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Specimen Transport: Preparing and transporting blood samples to the laboratory for analysis. Other Duties: Depending on the specific setting, phlebotomists may also be involved in other tasks, such as collecting other types of specimens (urine, stool, etc.) or performing basic laboratory tests Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month Schedule: Rotational shift Work Location: In person Application Deadline: 10/06/2025
