Job Summary:

The Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with medical and legal regulations, and providing drug-related information to healthcare professionals and patients. The role ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:Dispensing & Patient Care:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately to inpatients and outpatients.
• Provide appropriate information on dosage, side effects, and storage of medications.
• Check prescriptions for errors and ensure patient safety.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain stock levels, check for expiry, and coordinate reordering of medicines.
• Receive, label, and store stock following safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure proper documentation of drugs received and dispensed.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Adhere to hospital protocols, pharmacy policies, and drug control regulations.
• Maintain records of narcotics and schedule drugs as per guidelines.
• Participate in internal and external pharmacy audits.

Coordination & Communication:

• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding drug availability and alternatives.
• Report medication errors and adverse drug reactions as per protocol.
• Educate patients and staff on safe medication practices when required.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the pharmacy area.
• Maintain logs, reports, and computerized billing entries where applicable.
• Participate in stock verification and audit processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institute.
• Licensure: Must have a valid Pharmacy License.
• Experience: 1–3 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Skills:
• Knowledge of drug names, classifications, and interactions
• Accuracy in handling prescriptions and billing
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Hospital Information Systems)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
