Role: AS400 Developer(RPG/RPGL)

Location: Pan India

Minimum exp.: 7-10 Years

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs and CL jobs on IBM i (AS/400) for transactional and batch systems.

• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement stable fixes to minimise downtime.

• Optimize DB2 for i queries, file layouts, and program logic to improve throughput and reduce processing windows.

• Implement interfaces and integrations (service programs, stored procedures, APIs) for downstream systems and middleware.

• Participate in code reviews, release activities, and change-control processes; produce clear technical documentation.

• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations; mentor junior developers to raise team capability.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must-Have:

• IBM i (AS/400)

• RPGLE

• RPG III/IV

• CLLE

• DB2 for i

• SQL

Preferred:

• IBM Rational Developer for i or equivalent IDE

• COBOL on IBM i

• Experience with REST/service program development and modernisation patterns
