Job Purpose:

To lead and manage all engineering functions at the plant including project execution, maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure development. The PED Head will ensure operational reliability, engineering excellence, and readiness for future capacity and capability expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Engineering & Execution:

• Lead greenfield/brownfield project execution for new glass processing lines (e.g., tempering, lamination, IGU).
• Plan and execute CapEx projects layouts, utilities, civil, electrical, and mechanical.
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and consultants to ensure on-time and within-budget project completion.

2. Plant Maintenance:

• Ensure uptime and performance of all machinery and equipment through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance systems.
• Troubleshoot chronic equipment issues and drive root cause elimination.
• Develop and monitor maintenance KPIs MTTR, MTBF, breakdown hours, spare cost, etc.

3. Utility Management:

• Manage utilities like power, compressed air, water, HVAC, and waste systems.
• Optimize energy usage and support energy-saving initiatives.

4. Infrastructure & Facility Management:

• Maintain building, lighting, HVAC, and structural assets.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of plant infrastructure.

5. Technology Upgradation:

• Evaluate and recommend modern automation, process improvements, and equipment retrofits.
• Keep abreast of advancements in glass processing machinery and technology.

6. Vendor & Asset Management:

• Oversee AMCs, spares planning, and equipment procurement.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships and audit service quality.

7. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all engineering operations adhere to safety standards and statutory compliance (Factories Act, Electrical Safety, Boilers, etc.).
• Implement EHS guidelines during installation, commissioning, and operations.

8. Documentation & Systems:

• Maintain updated engineering drawings, SOPs, checklists, and maintenance logs.
• Implement CMMS/ERP systems for tracking and control.

Key Requirements:

Education:

• Diploma / B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
• Certifications in Project Management / Maintenance Systems preferred.

Experience:

• 15–20 years of experience in engineering & maintenance, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role in the

  glass processing or allied industry

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with glass processing machines (tempering furnaces, autoclaves, cutting lines, CNC, IGU lines, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Familiarity with TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and lean maintenance practices.

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership, planning, and coordination abilities.
• Vendor and contractor management.
• Effective communication and team development skills.
