Pcb Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and review schematics with proper hierarchy, net organization, and electrical rule checks.
• Create and maintain IPC-compliant symbol and footprint libraries.
• Define 6-layer or higher PCB stack-ups in collaboration with fabrication vendors.
• Perform optimized component placement considering signal flow, EMC, thermal needs, and manufacturability.
• Execute high-speed routing with controlled impedance, differential pairs, length matching, and signal integrity considerations.
• Route dense BGAs, high-pin microcontrollers, and complex multi-interface boards.
• Create and manage detailed DRC/DFC rules and resolve layout violations.
• Optimize power distribution networks (PDN) and implement thermal management techniques (thermal vias, copper pours).
• Generate fabrication and assembly outputs and interact with fabricators for DFM/DFA validation.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Maintain proper design documentation, revision control, and quality standards.

• Preferred candidate profile

• Strong proficiency in schematic capture, symbol creation, footprint design, and library management (SCHLIB/PCBLIB).
• Expertise in multi-layer PCB design (6-layer and above) with proper stack-up definition (signal layers, power planes, ground planes, impedance-controlled layers).
• Skilled in component placement, routing, high-density boards, BGA routing, and multi-interface microcontroller designs.
• High-speed routing experience including USB 3.0, PCIe, Ethernet, CAN-FD with differential pairs, length tuning, impedance control, and crosstalk minimization.
• Knowledge of via-in-pad technology and advanced routing techniques.
• Strong DRC rule setup, constraint management, and violation troubleshooting.
• Experience with DFM/DFA guidelines and coordinating with PCB fabricators for stack-up confirmation.
• Ability to generate all manufacturing outputs (Gerber, ODB++, drill files, pick-and-place, BOM, assembly drawings).
