Job Description

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA) for Pathology: Sample Collection & Handling Ensure proper collection, labeling, and transportation of patient samples. Maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination. Laboratory Testing & Analysis Perform routine and specialized pathological tests (e.g., hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, histopathology). Ensure accuracy, precision, and timely reporting of results. Quality Control & Assurance Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing. Conduct internal and external quality control measures. Reporting & Documentation Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results. Maintain proper records of test reports, calibration logs, and equipment maintenance. Equipment Maintenance & Calibration Ensure laboratory instruments are calibrated and maintained regularly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance requirements. Safety & Compliance Adhere to safety protocols, including biosafety and infection control measures. Ensure compliance with NABL, ISO, and other regulatory guidelines. Research & Development Participate in clinical research and development of new testing methodologies. Implement innovative techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy. Coordination & Communication Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and hospital staff for better patient care. Communicate critical test results to physicians promptly. Training & Development Provide training to laboratory staff and interns. Stay updated with the latest advancements in pathology. Inventory Management Monitor stock levels of reagents, chemicals, and consumables. Ensure proper storage and disposal of biohazardous materials.
