Job Title: Pastry Chef – Commis II
Location: South Mumbai
Department: Bakery & Pastry Kitchen
Reports To: Pastry Chef de Partie / Sous Chef
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis II – Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at a high-end, fine-dining restaurant in South Mumbai. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in pastry and dessert preparation, with a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, luxury kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior pastry chefs in the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked items.
  • Follow standard recipes and instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry kitchen in line with FSSAI and HACCP standards.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of all pastry items and ingredients.
  • Support mise en place and day-to-day prep for service.
  • Assist in the creation of new dessert concepts and trial runs as guided by the Pastry Chef.
  • Uphold the restaurant's standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and contribute to a positive, professional work environment.

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in pastry or bakery section, preferably in a fine-dining or luxury hotel setting.
  • Formal training in pastry or bakery from a recognized culinary institute is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry fundamentals, including doughs, mousses, tarts, sauces, and plating techniques.
  • Passion for pastry arts and willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced chefs.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
