Job Description

Job Summary:

The Bakery & Pastry Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation, baking, and presentation of bakery and pastry items. The role requires following recipes, maintaining product consistency, and ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and kitchen operations under the supervision of senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of bakery and pastry items such as cakes, breads, cookies, desserts, and other confectionery.
  • Follow standardized recipes and instructions from the Pastry Chef / Bakery Chef.
  • Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately as per recipe specifications.
  • Operate baking equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of work area and utensils.
  • Monitor baking processes, temperatures, and timings to ensure product quality.
  • Decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts with precision and creativity.
  • Assist in inventory management and maintain proper storage of raw materials.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Support in daily mise-en-place and closing duties of the bakery section.
  • Maintain discipline, grooming standards, and kitchen decorum.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma / Certificate in Bakery & Confectionery / Culinary Arts / Hotel Management.
  • Experience: 0–3 years of experience in bakery or pastry section (freshers with training may apply).
  • Skills & Attributes:
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Creative and detail-oriented with good presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Team player with willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Time management and ability to work under pressure.

Pay: ₹12,796.76 - ₹24,000.00 per month
