Job Summary:

We are looking for a Firewall & Network Security Engineer with 4 to 6 years of experience in managing enterprise firewall and network security operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, including Panorama, VPNs, IPsec, and troubleshooting, along with a solid understanding of switching, routing, and network security best practices. This role requires working in a 247 operations model, handling firewall administration, network troubleshooting, security policy enforcement, and implementation projects. The candidate must also possess strong documentation skills and be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:-

Firewall & Security Management

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Firewalls, including:

• Panorama, Global Protect VPN, IPsec tunnels
• Policy-Based Forwarding (PBF), failover mechanisms, high availability (HA)
• URL filtering, threat prevention, and security policies
• Analyze and optimize firewall rules, ensuring compliance with security guidelines.
• Perform firewall upgrades, migrations, and patches to maintain security posture.
• Conduct firewall log analysis and threat investigations using monitoring tools.

Network Infrastructure & Routing

• Configure and troubleshoot switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static Routing).
• Work with ISPs for internet link troubleshooting, BGP peering, and redundancy configuration.
• Troubleshoot policy-based forwarding (PBF), tunnel tracking, and routing issues.

Operations & Incident Management

• Work in a 247 operations model, responding to firewall/network incidents and outages.
• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and security teams for problem resolution.
• Ensure compliance with Infosec guidelines and maintain network security best practices. •Assist in security audits and risk assessments.

Documentation & Team Collaboration

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, firewall policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare incident reports, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and change management documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and support implementation projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of experience in firewall administration & network security.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (Panorama, Global Protect VPN, IPsec, and security rules).
• Strong knowledge of switching, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static Routing).
• Experience troubleshooting Policy-Based Forwarding (PBF), failover mechanisms, and tunnel tracking.

Basic understanding of wireless network infrastructure.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work in a 247 shift model, including weekends and extended hours when needed.
• Ability to coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and security teams for network and firewall-related tasks.

Preferred Certifications

• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security or Enterprise
• ITIL Foundation (for operational process understanding)
