Job Description

The Packing & Dispatch Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate packing, safe handling, and timely dispatch of finished goods as per company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory norms. The role involves coordination with production, quality, stores, and transporters to ensure smooth outbound logistics operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesPacking Operations

  • Ensure proper packing of finished goods as per approved packing standards, SOPs, and customer specifications.
  • Verify product quantity, batch number, MRP, manufacturing date, and labeling before packing.
  • Maintain packing material inventory and raise indent requests when required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety and hygiene standards in the packing area.
  • Prevent product damage, mix-ups, and shortages during packing.

Dispatch & Logistics

  • Prepare dispatch documents such as delivery challans, invoices, packing lists, and e-way bills (if applicable).
  • Coordinate with transporters, courier agencies, and logistics vendors for timely dispatch.
  • Ensure vehicle inspection before loading and proper loading practices.
  • Track dispatched consignments and follow up for timely delivery.
  • Handle dispatch-related queries and resolve discrepancies.

Documentation & Records

  • Maintain accurate records of packed and dispatched materials.
  • Update dispatch registers, ERP/software entries, and stock movement records.
  • Ensure proper filing of dispatch-related documents for audits and compliance.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Stores, and Accounts departments.
  • Ensure dispatch activities comply with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety norms.
  • Support internal and external audits related to packing and dispatch.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of packing standards and dispatch procedures in a manufacturing setup
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and logistics operations
  • Documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and vendors
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel / ERP systems)

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate / Diploma in any discipline (Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred)

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in packing and dispatch operations in a manufacturing industry.

Working Conditions

  • Factory-based role
  • May involve shift duties and extended hours during peak dispatch schedules

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
