Packaging Designer

As a Packaging Designer at RRD GO Creative in Chennai, you will be responsible for the following key tasks: - Packaging Design & CAD Development: You will be tasked with creating 3D parametric CAD models and 2D technical drawings for various packaging formats using tools like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD. Collaboration with teams is essential to ensure that designs are functional, cost-effective, and meet product requirements. - Material & Structural Design: Your expertise in packaging materials and manufacturing processes such as corrugated, folding cartons, rigid boxes, and molded fiber tray assembly will play a crucial role. Understanding the structure between finished 3D and 2D die lines is necessary for this role. - Collaboration Communication: Working closely with internal and external design engineers, marketing teams, and clients, you will interpret and communicate packaging requirements effectively. Your objective will be to ensure that designs align with the brand vision and meet functional specifications. - Innovation: Keeping abreast of packaging trends, materials, and technologies will be vital to integrating the latest innovations into your designs. You will be responsible for creatively troubleshooting and resolving design challenges. Qualifications for this role include: - Core Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD design using tools like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Artios CAD. A strong understanding of packaging design principles for folding cartons, rigid boxes, and corrugated packaging is essential, along with experience in packaging for retail and e-commerce. - Additional Knowledge: Experience with packaging optimization tools like Artios CAD, CAPE Pack, and simulation software such as SolidWorks Simulation is preferred. Manufacturing knowledge, including die-cutting and folding, will be advantageous. - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to clearly articulate design concepts to cross-functional teams and external partners. - Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. You should have 2-5 years of experience in packaging design, preferably in high-end retail or consumer electronics. Please note that fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory for this role, while proficiency in Mandarin is considered a plus.,
