Outage Management System Developer-OMS

Fast learning or possessing of good knowledge of software tools that help utilities detect, manage, and restore power outages quickly and efficiently.

• Provide analysis of OMS solutions integration with other systems like SCADA and GIS to provide a comprehensive view of the grid and manage the outage lifecycle from start to finish.
• Experience developing/using out-of-the-shelf tools to isolate faults, prioritize repairs, and dispatch the right crews to affected areas, minimizing outage duration and impact.
• Experience in developing/using software tools to keep customers informed about outage status and estimated restoration times through automated messages and other channels.
• Provide right to the point analysis using data analytics, to predict potential fault locations, allowing for faster response times.
• Design & analysis skills to map and define user needs and design software, creating models and diagrams to guide the coding process.
• Coding and testing skills to write, test, and debug code to ensure programs are efficient, secure, and functional.
• Maintenance and optimization skills to maintain and update software, troubleshoot issues, and optimize code for speed and scalability.
• Run queries and scripts using SQL and Windows Shell
• Provide expert-level support services to business end users.
• Keen diagnosing skills resolving common and highly specific issues, often involving data collection, evaluation of options, and recommending a course of action.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to answer questions, troubleshoot complex problems, and provide solutions that general support staff cannot.
• Experience in the implementation of new systems, patches, or applications, performing validation testing (such as User Acceptance Testing), and ensuring new functionality meets business needs
• Experience preparing reference materials, operating instructions, and training end-users on specific systems or procedures.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, working closely with cross-functional teams to address challenges, design and implement solutions effectively.
