OT Technician

The candidate should be a trained and minimum 2 years experience in the Eye Operation Theatre.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Preparation of the Operation Theatre:Ensuring the operating room is clean, organized, and ready for surgery, including setting up equipment and instruments.
• Sterilization and Infection Control:Sterilizing instruments and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, and following infection control protocols.
• Patient Preparation:Assisting in preparing the patient for surgery, including positioning, draping, and ensuring comfort.
• Inventory Management:Maintaining adequate supplies of medical and diagnostic materials, and checking for expired items.
• Equipment Maintenance:Ensuring proper functioning of equipment and instruments, and reporting any malfunctions.

During Surgery:

• Assisting the Surgeon: Passing instruments, managing equipment, and assisting with other tasks as directed by the surgeon.
• Patient Monitoring: Observing patient vitals and alerting the medical team to any changes.
• Handling Emergencies: Assisting the medical team during emergencies, such as administering medications or providing basic life support.

Post-operative:

• Cleaning and Resetting the Theatre:Cleaning and disinfecting the operating room after each procedure, and preparing it for the next surgery.
• Maintaining Records:Keeping accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment used, and patient data.
• Disposing of Waste:Properly disposing of biohazardous waste.
• Patient Care:Assisting with post-operative care, including monitoring the patient's condition and providing comfort.
