OT Nurse

Job Title: Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse

Department: Operation Theatre
Reporting To: OT In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent
Hospital Type: Multispeciality Hospital

Qualification & Registration

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing (mandatory)
• Valid State Nursing Council Registration

Experience Required

• Minimum 1–5 years of experience as an OT Nurse
• Hands-on experience in a Multispeciality Hospital is mandatory
• Exposure to NABH standards will be an added advantage

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare OT for surgical procedures ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and readiness
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT team during operative procedures
• Perform duties as Scrub Nurse and Circulating Nurse
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention practices
• Ensure availability and proper functioning of OT instruments, equipment, and consumables
• Perform surgical counts (instruments, needles, sponges) as per protocol
• Ensure correct patient positioning and safety during surgery
• Handle specimens as per hospital and safety guidelines
• Maintain accurate OT documentation, checklists, and surgical records
• Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization and availability of instruments
• Follow hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH patient safety standards
• Participate in audits, training programs, mock drills, and quality improvement initiatives

Skills & Competencies

• Thorough knowledge of OT procedures and surgical instruments
• Experience in handling surgeries from multiple specialties (General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, ENT, Urology, etc.)
• Ability to work in high-pressure and emergency situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High level of discipline, integrity, and patient-centric approach

Duty Hours

• Shift-based duties including night shifts and emergency calls

Remuneration

• Salary: As per qualification, experience, and hospital policy

Preferred Candidates

• Immediate joiners preferred
• Candidates with NABH exposure will be given preference

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
