OT Incharge

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage the entire OT team

   including OT technicians, nurses, and support staff.

2. Coordinate all surgical cases

   across multiple specialties ensuring proper equipment, sterilization, and manpower are available.
3. Maintain

   aseptic techniques and infection control protocols

   as per NABH standards.

4. Ensure availability and functionality of OT instruments, equipment, and supplies.

5. Plan

   OT schedules

   , manage surgical slots, and handle emergency case preparedness.

6. Liaison with surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing departments

   for seamless case flow.
7. Monitor and document OT usage, surgical case data, equipment usage, and instrument turnover.
8. Conduct

   regular training and orientation

   for OT staff.
9. Implement and oversee

   sterilization processes and CSSD coordination

   .
10. Prepare and maintain

    daily reports, case logs, inventory, and incident reports

    .
11. Participate in

    quality audits, infection control rounds, and department meetings.

12. Ensure adherence to hospital policies and safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in OT Technology

  or

  B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology

  .

• Minimum 5 10 years of experience

  as an OT Technician, with at least 2 3 years in a supervisory/incharge role.
• Strong knowledge of

  surgical procedures, OT instrumentation, sterilization methods, and patient positioning techniques.

• Experience managing a

  multidisciplinary OT setup

  (general surgery, ortho, neuro, gynae, laparoscopic, etc.).
• Familiarity with

  NABH protocols, emergency response, and operation scheduling.

• Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain discipline and teamwork in high-stakes surgical environments.
