Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management:

  Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, or newer) across development, staging, and production environments.

• Performance Tuning:

  Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations for improved performance.

• Backup and Recovery:

  Implement robust backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, or other backup tools to ensure data integrity and availability.

• Database Security:

  Ensure databases are secure by managing user roles, permissions, and ensuring compliance with security best practices and organizational standards.

• High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

  Implement and manage high availability solutions like Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and standby databases for disaster recovery.

• Capacity Planning:

  Work with teams to forecast database storage needs and optimize resources as required for scaling.

• Database Upgrades & Patches:

  Perform regular database patching, upgrades, and migrations to ensure systems are running the latest, most secure Oracle versions.

• Troubleshooting & Incident Management:

  Provide proactive database monitoring and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues affecting database performance and availability.

• Automation & Scripting:

  Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.

• Database Optimization:

  Perform routine database optimizations such as reorganization, partitioning, and indexing to maintain performance and reduce downtime.

• Collaboration & Documentation:

  Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other teams to ensure that database systems align with business and technical needs. Document processes, procedures, and best practices for internal reference.
