Role Overview: As a Tele-Optometrist at our retail store, you will utilize your expertise to deliver top-notch eye care services to customers through virtual consultations. Conducting comprehensive eye exams remotely using telehealth technology will be a key aspect of your role, ensuring precise prescriptions and evaluations of eye health. Your position will play a crucial role in enhancing access to eye care services within a retail setting, combining clinical knowledge with convenience. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct virtual comprehensive eye exams utilizing tele-optometry platforms and in-store diagnostic equipment, with support from trained technicians. - Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions, prescribe corrective lenses, and offer necessary follow-up care. - Collaborate closely with in-store optical staff to guarantee accurate lens fitting, frame selection, and overall customer satisfaction. - Review patient history, evaluate visual acuity, and assess ocular health through high-resolution imaging and live video interactions. - Ensure meticulous documentation of patient records following HIPAA and local regulatory guidelines. - Provide guidance on eye care products such as contact lenses and protective eyewear. - Stay updated on telehealth advancements and optometric practices to deliver cutting-edge services. - Assist store staff in addressing patient inquiries and resolving concerns effectively. Qualifications Required: - Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. - Holding active state license(s) in the state(s) where patients are located. - Preferably a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; however, new graduates with proper licensing are also welcome. - Proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital diagnostic tools. - Strong communication skills and a patient-centric approach. - Comfortable working independently while effectively coordinating with retail teams.
