Role Overview:

1. Investment Banking & Derivatives Expertise

• Deep understanding of capital allocation and turnover, especially in derivatives and Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS).
• Strong grasp of securitization business drivers including risk assessment, hedge positioning, and asset structuring.
• Proven experience in private credit, with the ability to assess complex financial instruments and credit risk.

2. Financial Domain Expertise

• Proficient in analyzing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Solid knowledge of corporate finance concepts: ROE, leverage, cost of capital.
• Familiarity with real estate finance and REIT reporting standards.
• Experience in capital markets, hedging strategies, and risk management.

3. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Skilled in preparing and analyzing quarterly/annual financial reports.
• Experience with SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and investor communications.
• Strong analytical capabilities in trend/variance analysis and forecasting.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.

4. Mortgage & Real Estate Domain (Preferred)

• Understanding of residential mortgage products, loan origination, and securitization.
• Experience with REITs, mortgage lenders, or specialty finance firms.

5. Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Product).

6. Tools & Technical Proficiency

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, complex formulas).
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau for data visualization.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Workday preferred; Oracle, SAP valued).
• Ability to query data using SQL or similar tools.
• Experience with financial planning tools (FiS Integrity, Workiva, Planful).
