About the Role

Forklift Operator

Key Responsibilities

1. Forklift Operation & Material Handling

• Operate forklift safely for loading, unloading, stacking, and transporting materials across the plant.
• Handle drums, chemical bags, pallets, battery scrap, and other critical mineral materials as per operational needs.
• Ensure proper weight distribution, load balancing, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

2. Warehouse & Yard Management

• Support storage and retrieval of materials in warehouses, production areas, and dispatch zones.
• Maintain proper stacking, labeling, and material segregation.
• Assist in inbound and outbound material movement for production and logistics teams.

3. Equipment Care & Basic Maintenance

• Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklift (brakes, battery, oil, hydraulics, tyres, forks, lights, horn).
• Report any mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
• Ensure forklifts are charged/refueled and maintained in safe operating condition.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all plant safety rules, PPE guidelines, and material handling protocols.
• Operate forklifts in restricted zones with maximum caution to avoid accidents.
• Handle hazardous/chemical materials safely in coordination with EHS guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with traffic rules and company safety policies.

5. Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain material movement logs, forklift usage records, and basic documentation.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams for smooth operations.
• Support stock-taking and physical inventory activities when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Experience:

  38 years as a Forklift Operator in chemical plants, recycling plants, manufacturing units, warehouses, or similar industries.

• Mandatory Valid Forklift Driving License

  ; experience with electric or diesel forklifts preferred.
• Strong understanding of safe material handling practices.
• Ability to work in shifts and in a fast-paced plant environment.
• Good coordination skills, discipline, and safety-first mindset.
