Role & responsibilities: Role: RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, JBoss Platform Administrator Primary Skills: RedHat Role Description: The RedHat OpenShift Platform and JBoss Administrator would need to have at least 3-5 years of experience. In this role, you will primarily focus on administering and supporting the OpenShift Container Platform ecosystem for the organization in both AWS public cloud and on premise. This includes managing container tenant provisioning, isolation, and capacity. You will work directly with infrastructure as code-based automation to manage the capacity of the overall platform and deliver new capacity and capabilities as necessary. Having a strong background in Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and security will be required in successfully fulfilling this role; and in providing level 2 support. Additionally, understanding application development lifecycles as well practical experience in working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools as part of the container lifecycle will be useful. Principle Responsibilities: - Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by Identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability. - Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring) - Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc. - Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts - Provides L2 engineering support - Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing. - Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s) - Partners with experienced team members to develop accurate work estimates on work packages. - May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team members. - May assist experienced team members with the delegation of work packages. - Extensive experience in Planning, Installing, Configuring, Administering, Patching, Tuning, Troubleshooting, and Integrating JBoss application Server - Configure, upgrade, and maintain JBOSS platforms - Working knowledge in Java middleware servers including WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, and JBoss - Should be able to perform deployments, Data source modifications for databases - Should have worked on JMS and ActiveMQ setup with JBOSS and should be able to troubleshoot the issues wisely performance issue, connectivity issues with other applications using JBOSS and should have worked on SSL configurations - Strong knowledge of UNIX scripting and automation. - Experience in Investigating and resolving performance issues by analyzing thread dump, GC values and heap dump - Experience with configuring SSL: 1- way SSL and 2 - way SSL configuration. - Knowledge on the DevOps tools sets like uDeploy/Jenkins and ServiceNow, ansible, GitHub etc. Experience (Mandatory): - Expertise with the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform. - Expertise with JBoss administration - Expertise with Kubernetes. - Expertise in RedHat Linux administration. - Expertise working with Docker or similar container technologies. - Experience with AWS cloud PAAS/IAAS technologies. - Experience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform - Experience in Infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and Ops Knowledge/Skills: - Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high demand environment - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Demonstrates strong customer service awareness and orientation - Exemplifies leadership characteristics in support of corporate objectives Education: - Training, or Certification Bachelors Degree in computer science or engineering preferred - AWS associate certifications or higher preferred - RedHat certifications in Linux and OpenShift administration preferred - Core Competencies - Communicates with Impact; Demonstrates Customer Focus; Demonstrates Openness; Integrity and Trust; Embraces Innovation and Change - Level Specific Competencies - Aligns Performance for Success. - Ensures Operational/Process Excellence.
