The General Manager Quality is responsible for leading the overall Quality function across projects, products, and services in the Oil & Gas segment. This role ensures compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications while driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and zero-defect delivery. The position involves strategic leadership, customer interface, audits, certifications, and team development to achieve organizational quality objectives.
• Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
• Lead quality planning for projects and products from design to delivery.
• Represent the Quality function at management and customer review meetings.
• Drive a quality-first culture across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, API and other relevant Oil & Gas standards.
• Oversee documentation, implementation, and continual improvement of QMS.
• Maintain required certifications, accreditations, and approvals.
• Monitor and report on key quality metrics to top management.
• Establish robust inspection, testing, and validation processes for equipment, assemblies, and services.
• Ensure supplier quality management and vendor audits to maintain high standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non conformances.
• Implement tools such as FMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, and Risk Management in quality practices.
• Act as the primary interface with customers on quality-related matters.
• Handle third-party inspections, audits, and certifications.
• Ensure timely closure of customer complaints, NCRs, and audit findings.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality team.
• Conduct training on quality standards, processes, and tools across departments.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality integration in all functions. Preferred
• Bachelors / Masters degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
• More than 15 years of progressive experience in Quality.
• Strong exposure to Oil & Gas equipment.
• Expertise in international codes/standards (ISO, API, etc.).
• Certified Lead/internal Auditor for ISO/API standards preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced quality tools (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, Risk Management).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of measuring and handling of large-sized measuring instruments, quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
