Purpose/Objective

A Material Master Cataloguer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing material master data within SAP ERP system. The primary objective is to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity. Key responsibilities include: 1. Classifying materials based on categories such as operational spares, general spares, chemicals, and consumables. 2. Validating and inspecting material data to ensure it meets required standards. 3. Communicating with suppliers and internal teams to gather and verify material information 4. Ensuring data accuracy and preventing duplication in the inventory

Key Responsibilities of Role

Review material master request for completeness and accuracy. Work with requestor for additional information and ensure that the request quality is ensured. Classifying Materials: Categorize materials based on their types, such as operational spares, general spares, chemicals, and consumables Data Validation and Inspection: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of material data by validating and inspecting it before entry into the system De-Duplicate material master: Identify duplicate material master's with reference to part number, Material master characteristics Support in standardization cataloguing standards of OEM and commodity items Support in Data Cleansing 1. Eliminate Errors and Inconsistencies: Correct inaccuracies and standardize data formats to ensure uniformity across all systems 2. Remove Duplicates: Identify and eliminate duplicate entries to streamline inventory management and reduce redundancy Enhance Data Quality: Improve the overall quality of material data, making it more reliable for decision-making and operational efficiency Process master data request in MDG Contribute to Training End-users on the master data change management process for new joiners Knowledge of Functional area of SAP MM

Qualifications and Experience

3 Year Engineering Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Graduate engineer in Mechanical or Electrical Experiences: 4-5 years in master data management in Material master Experience in service industries for data management and SAP rollout projects / IT implementation Knowledge and experience in data quality and data cleansing is preferred.
