Role & responsibilities

Purchase Operations

• Continuously procure materials from vendors as per prepared plan to ensure timely availability of material in the plant
• Share approved purchase request with the suppliers to inquire about the quantity and price of material
• Continuously follow up with Finance department to ensure timely approval for all Purchase orders
• Carry out discussion with the Process and Quality department to validate quality of raw material, fuel or equipment purchased by the department and in case of quality issue, negotiate with vendors and raise debit note as per the requirement
• Coordinate with Stores (inventory) to find range of inventory levels and ensure adherence to these inventory level
• Ensure proper and timely Raw material procurement (High Grade Limestone, Fly Ash, Iron Sludge, Red Ochre, Laterite, Bauxite, Red Mud, AFR, Pet coke, Coal and Gypsum) as per the required quantity and quality
• Ensure proper and timely procurement of any equipment, spare part and indirect material required for maintenance, repair and operations
• Follow up for status of advance payments, reimbursements, refunds for key vendors to avoid delay & deterioration of relationship

Maintain all records of purchase activities on digital platforms and promptly update status of PRs

Vendor Relations

• Work with vendors to ensure on time dispatch and delivery of material as per SLAs
• Monitor performance & quality of approved vendors  
• Carry out discussions with external vendors to negotiate on predefined terms
• Carry out negotiations with vendors to finalize equipment, Spare Parts price, terms and conditions and release purchase orders to selected vendor
• Follow up with the vendor for delivery status and forward invoice to Stores department for material collection and follow up with Finance department for releasing the payment to vendors
• Conduct visits to stores for checking material, escalate any pending matters related to Material and procurement
