Officer - Data Analyst (R&D)

Responsibilities

• Data Consolidation: Collect, clean and merge test results from multiple validation streams into master datasets.

• Data Processing: Develop scripts/macros (Excel VBA, Python) to automate trimming, filtering, normalization and error-checking of raw data.

• Statistical Analysis: Apply descriptive and inferential statistics (e.g., trend analysis, capability studies, hypothesis testing) to assess product performance and reliability.

• Visualization & Dashboards: Design interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI and Tableau that display key metrics (yield, failure rates, cycle-time, etc.) for stakeholders.

• Tool Development: Build self-service Excel templates with advanced formulas (dynamic arrays, Power Query, pivot-modelling) and integrate Python routines for complex calculations.

• Process Improvement: Identify repetitive manual tasks and propose workflow enhancements, driving adoption of automated solutions.

• Training & Support: Coach validation engineers on new analytics tools and report formats; produce user guides and conduct hands-on sessions.

• Governance & Documentation: Maintain version-controlled scripts, document data-flows, formulas and dashboard logic; ensure data integrity and security.

Core Competencies

• Expert command of Excel: Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, dynamic arrays), and VBA.

• Strong Python skills for data manipulation (pandas), statistical packages (SciPy, statsmodels) and Excel integration (openpyxl, xlwings).

• Proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau: data modeling, DAX calculations, parameterized dashboards and user-friendly layouts.

• Solid understanding of data-quality principles, statistical process control and reliability metrics.

Professional Skills Required

• 3 to 5 years hands-on experience in data analytics, reporting or BI roles (preferably in an engineering/testing environment).

• Proven track record of developing and deploying Excel- and Python-based automation tools.

• Demonstrable Power BI/Tableau portfolio showing real-world dashboards and insights.

• Solid foundation in statistics and data visualization best practices.

• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborating on shared repositories.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field.

• 3 to 5 years in data analytics, ideally supporting product engineering or validation teams.

Industry Preferred:

Technology-driven manufacturers or test-lab environments, especially in consumer electronics, power-backup or IoT devices.
