Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Nahla Centre for Child Development, Wayanad
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

Nahla Centre for Child Development is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to assess, plan, and implement therapy programs for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and other sensory-motor challenges. The therapist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance children’s functional independence in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess children's motor, sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional development.
  • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and child-specific goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy strategies to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school-related activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to parents and caregivers on home-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and educators for a holistic approach to child development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including assessment reports, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Monitor and review progress, making necessary modifications to intervention strategies.
  • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT) from a recognized institution.
  • Certification & License: Registration with the relevant Occupational Therapy Council.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy is preferred (fresh graduates with a passion for child development are also encouraged to apply).
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration therapy, neurodevelopmental treatment, and play-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered, and adaptable to diverse child needs.
