Job Title: Estimation Engineer – Static Equipment Location: Vadodara (POR GIDC), Gujarat Department: Proposal / Estimation Reporting To: Director Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Position Summary: The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and techno-commercial proposals for static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, and other fabricated process equipment. The role requires strong technical understanding of design codes, materials, and fabrication processes, with the ability to interpret client specifications and prepare competitive offers. Key Responsibilities: • Review client enquiries, tender documents, datasheets, P&IDs, and specifications for static equipment. • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, testing, painting, packing, and logistics. • Select suitable materials and determine plate thicknesses and welding requirements as per ASME / API / IS codes. • Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to obtain input for accurate costing. • Develop and submit techno-commercial proposals within deadlines. • Communicate with vendors/sub-suppliers to obtain quotations for bought-out items. • Support sales and business development teams during the bidding process. • Participate in bid clarification meetings and provide technical clarifications to clients. • Maintain cost data records, vendor database, and estimation tools for future reference. • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in all estimation work. Required Skills and Experience: • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory). • Experience: 1 – 5 years of relevant experience in estimation of static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, etc.) in fabrication / process / EPC industry. • Technical Knowledge: o Understanding of fabrication processes (rolling, welding, NDT, hydrotest, etc.). o Proficiency in MS Excel / estimation tools and ERP-based costing systems. • Soft Skills: o Strong analytical and numerical ability. o Good communication & coordination skills. o Time management and ability to handle multiple tenders simultaneously. o Detail-oriented, accurate, and proactive. Preferred: • Exposure to vacuum systems, leak detection equipment, or process skid fabrication. • Experience in preparing technical proposals for domestic and international clients.
