Job Description – Nurse In-Charge (Round the Clock)

Role Summary

We are looking for qualified and experienced Nurse In-Charges who will be responsible for managing overall nursing functions round the clock in a Cancer Care Hospital. The role requires excellent clinical knowledge, hands-on nursing skills, and the ability to supervise nursing teams effectively across all wards including ICU (Medical & Surgical).

Key Responsibilities

• Handle nursing operations independently during allotted duty hours
• Supervise Nurses, Staff Nurses, and Ward Assistants in respective shifts
• Ensure execution of nursing protocols and clinical procedures as per hospital standards
• Provide direct patient care whenever required
• Ensure proper medication administration, documentation and patient charts
• Coordinate with Consultants, Intensivists, and Medical Officers
• Maintain highest infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Monitor patient condition and escalate emergencies immediately
• Oversea ICU (Medical & Surgical), Emergency, IPD wards, and special cancer care units
• Ensure nursing staff compliance with clinical procedures and policies
• Prepare reports, handovers, and maintain shift documentation
• Attend and manage medical codes and emergency situations
• Maintain discipline, punctuality and teamwork in the unit
• Train and guide junior nursing staff

Required Skills & Competencies

• Excellent clinical & technical nursing knowledge
• Strong command in ICU nursing (Medical & Surgical)
• Able to handle critical care situations confidently
• Good communication & coordination skills
• Ability to lead and supervise nursing staff
• Knowledge of oncology care will be added advantage
• Strong patient-care focus and empathy

Qualification

• GNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing
• Registered Nurse with valid Nursing Council Registration

Experience

• Only experienced candidates
• Minimum 4+ years in hospital nursing In charge.
• ICU experience is mandatory
• Cancer hospital experience preferred

Work Schedule

• Round-the-clock rotational duties
• Must be available for night shifts and emergency duty
