Nuclear Safety Engineer

The role will entail supporting safety case development during the design, operation, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, and for the production of all nuclear safety documentation as part of the Site Licence Conditions. This may include the following:

• Hazard/Fault Identification Studies: e.g., HAZOP, HAZAN, FMEA, etc.
• Safety Arguments: Qualitative and quantitative safety arguments.
• Safety Case Development.
• Safety Assessments: Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments.
• Engineering Substantiation.
• Fault and Protection Schedules.
• Hazard Categorization and Assessment.
• Safety Case Authoring/Management/Development/Production.
• Fire Analysis: (nuclear or conventional).
• As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) Assessment.
• Engineering Change Safety Justifications.

Other key aspects of the role will include assisting in the production of bids and proposals and implementing and contributing to safety initiatives. You will also work within teams that liaise with operators, designers, and clients, building a strong relationship with them.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant subject.
• Technical Expertise: Technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgment and with extensive experience in using fundamental engineering skills.

• Safety Experience: Experience in safety case production and/or hazard analysis.
