1. Purpose of the Job

The NPD Manager handles independently the NPD Department. The candidate will plan, lead, and execute multiple NPD programs at a time and be accountable for the complete process. Prepare the cost estimate and the budget for the NPD project and the whole department too. Offer the best solution that will cater to the needs of the customer while making sure that the company will be productive and can save a lot in the process. coordinate with the customers regarding new product specifications and features. Work together with the Engineering, Production and other Department.

1. Accountability / major activities carried out by the position holder

• Ability to Support new product development activities including conceptualization and design controls (design verification, validation, process validation)
• Drive the development and standardization of engineering test plans and technical evaluations that include performance, reliability, regulatory, end of line testing, , used to validate new or existing system performance utilizing design for reliability tools and performance sensitivity analysis
• Ensure product design integrity by verifying that design or process changes do not violate Product Technical Specifications or reduce the quality of products per the NPD tollgate process
• Define & establish reliability engineering processes
• Demonstrates comprehensive working knowledge of the design control process completing FMEA and Risk analysis
• Having knowledge of 2D(AutoCAD), 3D (Solid Edge)
• Responsible for planning and developing new product as per customer requirement.
• Product design verification and suggestions.
• New product development with existing range.
• Preparation, review and control of internal technical documents.
• Working, validation & verification of Design calculation, analysing, feasibility study for new conceptual designs.
• Co-ordinating with planning dept., manufacturing dept. along with Quality dept. to achieve the targeted new product development.
• Preparing documents such as CP, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, PSW & submission to customers as per Requirements.
• Managing overall development related operations and ensuring timely accomplishment of efficiency and productivity targets.
• Minimizing performance bottlenecks for higher productivity by maximizing men, material and machine
• Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence training, tools and/or certification is preferred
• Specific Competency: Good Command on Design of New Parts.

• Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve production issues and bottlenecks.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs to ensure profitability.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.
• Technical Support: Perform technical support and clarify supplier queries. Actively research and stay abreast of industry trends and new manufacturing technologies to support NPD projects, of now and the future, and advance the companys manufacturing competitiveness

1. Specific Competencies / Exposure required for the role

• At least 12 to 16 years of relevant working experience in NPD
• Candidates must possess at least a bachelors degree in engineering of mechanical, or equivalent.
• Knowledge in Box Build, tear down Analysis, Manufacturing Process, Modeling skills is a must
• Knowledge in MS office skills is a must
• Required language(s): English, Kanada / Tamil
• Work Independently
• Able to handle & Coordinate with Customer and Supplier to meet their requirements on time.
