Overall Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and microservices
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Write clean, scalable, and secure code following best practices
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues promptly
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends in backend development
• Document technical specifications and system architecture

Technical Requirements

Backend Development:

• Node.js, Express.js

API Development:

• RESTful services, JSON, XML

Databases:

• MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL

Version Control & CI/CD:

• Git, Jenkins, Docker

Testing & Debugging:

• Mocha, Chai, Jest

Cloud & Deployment:

• AWS, Azure, GCP (basic knowledge)

Containerization & Orchestration:

• Docker, Kubernetes (optional)

Other Tools:

• Postman, npm/yarn

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop and enhance backend APIs and microservices
• Collaborate with front-end and DevOps teams
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code integrity
• Review code and assist junior developers
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs or performance bottlenecks
• Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies
• Document system design and implementation details

Qualifications & Soft Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Proven experience in building scalable backend systems using Node.js
• Relevant certifications are a plus
