1. Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve state-specific targets and objectives. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform sales planning. Collaborate with senior management to align state sales strategy with the overall company goals. 2. Team Leadership & Management: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team. Set performance goals for the sales team and monitor progress through regular evaluations. Foster a positive and motivating work environment to drive team productivity and retention. 3. Sales Operations: Oversee day-to-day sales operations, including customer acquisition, account management, and channel management. Ensure effective implementation of sales processes and adherence to company policies. Monitor and analyze sales metrics to ensure targets are met and identify areas for improvement. 4. Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the state to expand the companys market share. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and other business partners. Conduct regular market visits to understand customer needs and gather feedback. 5. Budget Management: Prepare and manage the sales budget for the state, ensuring cost efficiency. Monitor expenses and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to budgetary limits. 6. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to senior management. Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve overall performance. 7. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to sales and distribution. Identify potential risks in the market and develop strategies to mitigate them. 8. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as marketing, finance, product development, and customer service to ensure alignment and support for sales activities. Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to company-wide initiatives. Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). Proven experience in a sales leadership role 12+ years, preferably as a Regional or State Head. Strong understanding of the local market dynamics and customer behavior. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales management tools.
