Description
As a Software Test Engineer at Arista Networks, you will work collaboratively with software development engineers, hardware engineers, field support engineers, product managers, and software test engineers to analyze customer requirements, gather technical details, create software test plans, and ensure that the product meets customer specifications. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in addressing escalated customer issues by reproducing and debugging them in the lab. Your responsibilities will include: - Creating real impact in the rapidly growing Software defined (SD) branch, SD-WAN, Cloud IT services, and virtualization technologies. - Working on building the highest quality networking products by finding hard-to-find bugs and troubleshooting network and system problems. - Collaborating with multiple engineering teams to explore, find, and fix software problems before they reach customers. - Participating in functional specification and software design reviews to provide customer-centric input. - Designing test network topologies to validate the functionality, performance, stability, and scalability of features and products. - Executing test plans, identifying defects, and validating resolutions to ensure product quality. Qualifications for this role include: - BE/ B.Tech/ME/ M. Tech with networking industry experience. - Expertise in creating test methodologies and writing test plans. - Strong knowledge in areas such as Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, QoS, network management, among others. - Experience with IXIA and/or Spirent test tools is desired. - Working with developers to create automated tests and complement exploratory testing. - Working in a highly productive environment with a focus on quality on the Linux platform. - Utilizing various methods to find bugs in software and/or hardware being developed. - Writing test plans and executing them to validate Arista features and products.
