Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, LAN, WLAN, and VPN technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex office network environments, with a strong emphasis on Meraki networking equipment as well as a broad knowledge of switches, routers, and firewalls. This role requires both technical design/documentation skills and hands-on implementation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and document office network topologies, including LAN, WLAN, VPN, and firewall integrations.

Develop and deploy isolated VLAN zones to support cybersecurity clean rooms and specialized training environments.

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment including Meraki and other enterprise-grade hardware.

Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network issues across all network layers.

Maintain accurate and detailed network documentation including diagrams, topology maps, and configuration records.

Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to ensure secure and resilient network design.

Provide ongoing maintenance, optimization, and support of network infrastructure.

Install, configure, and physically deploy network equipment (lifting required).

Qualifications

CCIE certification (or equivalent advanced networking certification) required.

5+ years of proven experience in enterprise network engineering and design.

Expertise with Meraki platforms and strong familiarity with other switches, routers, and firewall solutions.

Strong background in LAN, WLAN, VPN, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).

Experience implementing and securing VLAN segmentation and isolated environments.

Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex networking issues under pressure.

Proficiency in creating clear documentation and network diagrams.

Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to lift and install networking hardware as required.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of network monitoring tools and best practices.

Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.

Prior experience in supporting training facilities or multi-use IT environments.
