Network Security Engineer

Detailed Job Description:

Technical Skills 

• Able to interact with application SMEs such as application L1, L2 and L3 support teams, Application IT owners and Project Managers for facilitating profiling of required connections for remote access connectivity. 

• Candidate must have hands on experience in network/firewall tools such as checkpoint R77/R80, McAfee web gateway ver6, 7 console to carry out day to day profiling tasks for firewall rules preparation. 

• Have good understanding of Windows operating system (Windows 7/10) and ability to investigate application failures with the assistance from desktop support, application support teams. 

• Ability to take control of firewall profiling task from end to end delivery of an application 

• Ability to work on incident, service and change management system ServiceNow. Also, work on creating connectivity requests to bespoke INCR/ACR system and following up with security teams for approvals. 

• Ability to grasp IT security related concepts in dealing with security teams to challenge non-compliant requests and validate these upfront in the profiling requests. 

• Lead, supervise, mentor and train other team members to develop strong IT application support capabilities and to cross train team members to eliminate single point of failure. 

Managerial Skills: 

• At least 3-5 years’ experience in Checkpoint managing multiple teams delivering IT products or an IT service. 

• Delivery and Customer focused team manager 

• Strong communicator with the ability to set and achieve delivery objectives and manage performance appraisals 

• Experience in motivating and building teams. 

• Experience in process and performance reviews and improvements.  

• Experience in conflict management 

• Good understanding of networks, firewalls and working knowledge of the virtual desktop environment.
