Network Instrumentation

As a Network Instrumentation Engineer, you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software, Infrastructure, and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to help solving operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. As Network Instrumentation Engineer, you’ll be focused on building and running world-class network performance monitoring and diagnostics applications and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design secured, resilient and self-healing instrumentation solutions as per engineering standard
• Install, productionize and support monitoring devices as per predefined procedure and instructions
• Perform product upgrades in accordance with change management and release management guidelines
• Analyze, test and certify monitoring appliances and software products as per JPMC standard
• This Network Instrumentation Engineer position will work closely with all our customers primarily Network operations and Cyber to provide packet aggregation service
• Work hand in hand with Operations and Architecture organizations on items such as bug fixes, design changes, and code upgrades.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
• Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
• 7+ years of experience in information technology with a focus on routing and switching or security networking. (CCNP to CCIE)
• Strong background in Packet Broker and Analysis tools is preferred.
• Arista DMF or similar packet broker tools
• Riverbed AppResponse, NetProfiler, Flowgateway or similar packet and flow analytics tools
• Maintains proficiency in these key areas:
• Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations)
• Hardware Benchmarking (Agile, program managements, network management)
• Design (compliance, security)
• Network Engineering (planning, provision)
• Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks)
• Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals using SCRUM practices.
• Experience diagnosing performance issues in complex distributed applications leveraging infrastructure and application telemetry.
• Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
• Proven experience managing various large-scale enterprise network topologies including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Network Security Services. Examples include Routers (Cisco – ASR/GSR/Nexus/Juniper) Switches (Cisco), Wireless (Cisco), Transport (Cisco/Ciena). Firewall (Check Point and Cisco), Load Balancers (Cisco and F5), Proxy (Blue Coat), etc. Certifications in these areas preferred
