Job Description

Network Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze network traffic and performance data to detect bottlenecks, failures, and trends.
Develop and maintain
data pipelines
that collect and process data from various network devices and tools (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
Integrate and visualize network data using platforms such as
Elastic Stack
,
Grafana
, or
Power BI
.
Design and support
network monitoring solutions
and
alerting systems
.
Automate network diagnostics and reporting using
Python
,
Shell scripting
, or other relevant tools.
Collaborate with network engineers, security teams, and IT operations to improve visibility and operational efficiency.
Create documentation and reports for internal stakeholders based on network performance and metrics.
Support the implementation of
SDN (Software Defined Networking)
and
network automation
initiatives.

Required Skills:

46 years of experience in
network engineering
,
data engineering
, or a hybrid role.
Proficiency in
network protocols and devices
(TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
Strong hands-on experience with
Python
or other scripting languages for data processing and automation.
Familiarity with
network monitoring tools
(e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Nagios).
Experience in handling data with
SQL
,
NoSQL
, or
time-series databases
.
Understanding of
ETL pipelines
, data aggregation, and reporting techniques.
Exposure to
cloud environments
(AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with
NetFlow
,
SNMP
,
Syslog
, or other network data sources.
Familiarity with
DevOps tools
like Ansible, Jenkins, Git for network automation workflows.
Knowledge of
big data frameworks
like Spark or Kafka is a plus.
Certifications such as
CCNA
,
CCNP
, or
Network+
are advantageous.
