Super Speciality: Nephrology

Designation: Nephrologist (Clinical Practitioner)

III. Key responsibilities (clinical focus)

The Nephrologist will be responsible for the comprehensive clinical management of patients across the spectrum of kidney diseases.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Provide expert diagnosis, consultation, and management for acute and chronic kidney diseases, including Glomerulonephritis, Diabetic Nephropathy, and Tubulointerstitial diseases.
2. Manage complex fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders in critically ill patients across all specialized intensive care units (ICU, SICU, NICU, PICU, CCU, NSICU, ITU).
3. Oversee the comprehensive care of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, including management of vascular access and prescription/supervision of all modalities of Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT), such as Hemodialysis (HD), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD).
4. Participate in the evaluation and ongoing care of patients requiring renal transplantation (pre- and post-operative management).
5. Provide emergency Nephrology consultation and coverage on a 24x7 rotational basis.
6. Actively participate in departmental clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care consistent with NABH accreditation.
7. Engage in teaching and mentoring activities for post-graduate residents and medical students, contributing to the institutions academic environment.

IV. Qualifications and experience

Mandatory educational qualifications:

• Post-Graduate Qualification (Feeder Specialty): M.D./DNB in General Medicine OR M.D./DNB in Paediatrics.
• Super Specialization: D.M. (Nephrology) recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.

Experience requirements:

• Minimum Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience is required after the completion of the D.M. (Nephrology) degree.
• Maximum Experience for Compensation Band: Up to 4 years of post-D.M. experience will be considered for the stated compensation band.
• Priority Criterion: Relevant work experience gained in recognized university or college-affiliated teaching hospital settings will be prioritized and is considered highly desirable, demonstrating strong clinical and subject-specific expertise.

V. Compensation

Salary Range: 3.5 Lakhs per month to 4.5 Lakhs per month (L p.m.) based on years of relevant post-D.M. experience and proven technical expertise.
