MS SQL Server DBA

As a Microsoft SQL Server DBA based in Chennai, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree along with at least 8 years of experience in a DBA role, primarily focusing on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and later versions. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Oracle databases, and 3 years of experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL. Your responsibilities will include working in OLTP environments, and demonstrating proficiency in SQL server installations, administration, updates, and upgrades. You will be required to create and manage multiple databases, assist in capacity planning, and monitor the system's health and performance. Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security will be crucial aspects of your role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SQL Server. It will be your duty to maintain data integrity and security by managing roles and permissions of database users. You will also need to devise strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration, and replication. Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes, including diagrams of database infrastructure, will be essential tasks. The ideal candidate for this role should be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Being a great team player with excellent time-management skills is essential.
