Job Description

Preferred candidate profile The Level 2 MS SQL Database Administrator Knowledge is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases and possessesadditional knowledge of s. This role involves supporting day-to-day database operations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security. The Level 2 DBA collaborates with Level 1 support, developers, and other IT teams to deliver efficient and reliable database services. Key Responsibilities: • MS SQL Database Management: Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server instances and databases. Monitor database performance, resource usage, and recommend optimizations for better efficiency. • Database Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery. Test backup and recovery procedures regularly to verify data recoverability. • Database Security: Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. • Database Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and resource contention issues. Optimize SQL Server configurations for better performance. • Database Monitoring and Alerts: set up monitoring and alerting for proactive identification of potential database issues. Respond to alerts and incidents to minimize service disruption.
