Job Description

Job Title: Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and Learnings Manager (MEAL).

Reports To: Director / Chief program officer

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with experience and profile, as per industry standards

Based at: Bangalore, Karnataka

Description: The MEAL manager provides hands-on support and leads on specific MEAL activities. This includes designing and implementing a robust MEAL system in line with organization standards and procedures. Conducting and supporting evaluation studies (baseline, midterm and end line), designing program monitoring tools, ensuring effective monitoring of program outputs and outcomes. The position also supports effective accountability systems and will contribute to program and organizational learning processes. Promoting MEAL knowledge transfer internally andexternally.

  1. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a Project Knowledge Management Monitoring and Learning Framework (PMF) with support of team (Inputs, output, outcome and impact)
  • Design and carry baseline, midterm and endline evaluations and assessments.
  • Ensure data quality and robust data analyses to meet all indicators of impact and outcome.
  • Develop and adopt an integrated database of all the projects/ programmes.
  • Produce reports on MEAL findings and share a report to management.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring visits for quality improvement,
  • Conduct quality circle meetings.
  • Conduct needs-based capacity building programs of program staff on MEAL system
  • Support project partners in the preparation of a MEAL plan
  • Tracking of the Compliance of the Organisation.
  • Projects quarterly review with support of portfolio and senior portfolio manager.
  • Support the Associate/Portfolio Manager/Sr. Portfolio manager in analysing data and taking appropriate decisions.

2.External Engagement.

  • Develop and manage relationships with identified external stakeholders.
  • Represent Ashraya Hastha Trust at key forums, conferences, events to build our network and generate potential leads.

3. Required Qualifications

  • Education

    : MSW or MBA
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts, is essential. Familiarity with MEAL frameworks and tools is highly valued.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in data management software are crucial. Leadership and training skills are also important for capacity building.

4. Work Environment

  • The role may involve fieldwork, requiring travel to program locations. The position is often based in challenging environments, necessitating adaptability and resilience.
