About the Role:Modern Stage Events is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Sales Development Manager to lead and expand our sales efforts. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic sales plans, and leading a team (if applicable) to achieve ambitious sales targets across our diverse portfolio of events. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a proven closer with a deep understanding of the event sales landscape. Responsibilities:Sales Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets for our range of events (e.g., conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, weddings).New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, cold outreach, and lead generation activities.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with potential and existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored event solutions.Proposal & Presentation Development: Create compelling and persuasive sales proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value proposition of our event services.Sales Team Leadership & Mentorship (If Applicable): Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of event sales professionals to achieve individual and team sales goals.Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast sales pipelines, track sales activities, and provide regular reports on progress against targets to senior management.Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies.Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, event operations, and other internal teams to ensure seamless client experience and successful event delivery.Negotiation & Closing: Effectively negotiate contracts and close sales deals to meet and exceed revenue objectives.Networking & Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships and generate leads. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.5+ years of progressive experience in event sales, business development, or a related sales role, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.Strong understanding of the event planning and management process.Excellent sales, negotiation, and closing skills.Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong leadership and team management skills (if managing a team).Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.Willingness to travel as required.Strong understanding of the Globally Event Sale industry Preferred Qualifications:Existing network of corporate clients, event planners, or industry contacts.Experience selling a diverse portfolio of event types.Familiarity with event management software.
