Modeler SDS2 / TEKLA - Night Shift

Purpose of the Role

To independently develop and coordinate complex 3D structural models and 2D drawings for steel and concrete structures. The mid-level modeler ensures design accuracy, BIM coordination, and quality standards, while supporting junior team members and collaborating closely with engineers and external stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead modeling efforts for assigned project packages, ensuring delivery of accurate 3D models and 2D drawings
• Develop and maintain detailed models in Tekla Structures, SDS2
• Produce fabrication and construction-ready drawing packages
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary BIM models and perform clash detection using Navisworks or BIM 360
• Update models based on design revisions and engineering markups
• Ensure compliance with project-specific BIM standards and quality control procedures
• Support engineers in quantity take-offs and material estimation
• Train and mentor junior modelers and drafters

Role-Specific Duties

• Review models for accuracy and completeness before internal submission
• Lead model review sessions with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Maintain version control and accurate model documentation across multiple project phases
• Assist with automation, template development, and process improvements
• Contribute to internal BIM knowledge-sharing and training sessions

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience in structural modeling and drafting
• Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination tools
• Knowledge of structural systems, fabrication processes, and international codes (AISC, ACI, Eurocode)
• Effective communication and mentoring skills
• Ability to independently manage assigned modeling scopes and deadlines
