The Data Developers must also have exceptional analytical skills, showing fluency in the use of tools such as MySQL and strong Python, Shell, Java, PHP, and T-SQL programming skills. The candidate must also be technologically adept, demonstrating strong computer skills. Additionally, you must be capable of developing databases using SSIS packages, T-SQL, MSSQL, and MySQL scripts. Purpose of the Role To independently develop and coordinate complex 3D structural models and 2D drawings for steel and concrete structures. The mid-level modeler ensures design accuracy, BIM coordination, and quality standards, while supporting junior team members and collaborating closely with engineers and external stakeholders. Purpose of the Role To provide technical leadership in structural steel detailing and BIM coordination using SDS2 Structures or TEKLA. This senior role is accountable for delivering accurate, fabrication-ready models and drawings for North American clients. The Senior Detailer leads quality control, project coordination, and team development, ensuring that all deliverables meet client specifications, industry codes, and internal standards. Core Responsibilities Lead the creation and management of 3D SDS2 or TEKLA models and associated 2D drawings (fabrication and erection packages) for complex steel structures Review and approve all detailing deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance (AISC, CISC, AWS, etc.) Coordinate detailing workflows across multiple projects, allocating tasks and monitoring deadlines Act as the primary technical liaison between the detailing team, structural engineers, and North American clients Manage change orders, RFIs, and model updates efficiently, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation Oversee clash detection and BIM coordination efforts with other disciplines (architectural, MEP) Drive adherence to Prozteels detailing standards and BIM protocols Role-Specific Duties Supervise and mentor mid-level and junior detailers, providing technical guidance and quality feedback Conduct and document internal QA/QC checks, ensuring a zero-defect approach in all outgoing drawings and models Lead client coordination meetings related to detailing scope, delivery schedules, and technical clarifications Review and manage project detailing schedules, balancing resources and priorities as needed Provide constructability input and propose practical detailing solutions when design issues arise Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of company-wide detailing standards, templates, and workflows Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field (or equivalent technical diploma with strong experience) 7+ years of structural steel detailing experience, with at least 5 years using SDS2 Structures on North American projects Expertise in steel connection detailing, fabrication standards, and drawing production workflows Proficiency in North American codes and standards (AISC, CISC, AWS) Strong leadership skills with proven experience supervising or mentoring detailers Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal—for working with engineers, clients, and team members across time zones Proficiency in BIM coordination and clash detection processes Preferred Qualifications Experience managing multiple projects or acting as lead detailer for major structural projects Familiarity with BIM platforms (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360) Exposure to SDS2, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus Certifications such as NISD or SDS2 Professional accreditation Behavioural Expectations Sets and upholds high quality and accuracy standards for self and others Demonstrates proactive leadership and team mentorship Communicates constructively and professionally with all stakeholders Anticipates potential detailing challenges and addresses them before they escalate Takes full accountability for project deliverables and deadlines Stays adaptable and resourceful when project scopes or priorities shift Working Conditions Full-time, office-based role in Chennai, India Collaboration with North American clients and engineers via virtual platforms Occasional adjustments to work hours may be required for cross-time-zone coordination No site visits required.
