Job Title: Microbiologist (Quality Control) Biopesticides & Biofertilizers

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join our Quality Control (QC) team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in microbiological quality control, with a strong understanding of the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) and Central Insecticides Board (CIB) regulations. This role involves ensuring that our biopesticide and biofertilizer products meet the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Microbiological Testing

  : Conduct routine and specialized microbiological tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, including but not limited to:
• Total Plate Count (TPC)
• Sterility and viability assessments
• Microbial identification and characterization

• Regulatory Compliance

  : Ensure all microbiological testing and documentation comply with FCO 1985 and CIB&RC guidelines. This includes adherence to sample analysis, reporting timeframes and specifications for biofertilizers as per the latest amendments.

• Method Development & Validation

  : Develop, validate, and implement microbiological test methods in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Documentation & Reporting

  : Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures and results. Prepare and review laboratory reports, test protocols, and batch records for accuracy and compliance.

• Investigation & Troubleshooting

  : Investigate microbiological out-of-specification (OOS) results and deviations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.

• Training & Support

  : Provide microbiological expertise and training to production staff, ensuring the proper implementation of the best microbiological practices.

• Continuous Improvement

  : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve microbiological processes, enhance testing methods, and optimize laboratory workflows.

Qualifications

• Education

  : Master’s degree in Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Microbiology, Plant Pathology, or a related field.

• Experience

  : Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in microbiological quality control, preferably in the Agro-biotech industry focusing on biopesticides and biofertilizers.

• Technical Skills

  :
• Proficiency in microbiological testing methods and techniques.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and methodologies relevant to microbiological quality control.

• Knowledge

  :
• Strong understanding of microbiology and laboratory techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of FCO 1985 and CIB&RC guidelines pertaining to biofertilizers and biopesticides.
