Job Overview Work in area of Biopesticide production Responsibilities and Duties Planning and execution of activities during running of solid state fermentation (SSF) batches for different fungal strains. Timely delivery of production target and achieving the target and product quality Monitoring of Powder processing steps (harvesting, drying, fungal spore extraction, sifting & blending) critically to avoid any market complaints. Issuance of documents (BMR, Checklists, Equipment list, History card, Calibration records, etc.) Ensure all documents of plant are online. BMR, Checklists, Equipment list, History card, Calibration records, etc.) Maintaining batch wise data of SSF in soft copy form and submitting hard copies to higher authority whenever required. Raw material planning as per batch plan and requisition in time. Assisting Dept. Head in Training to the staff and helping training to workers. Ensure proper housekeeping of the entire Production area. Ensure Zero batch failure. To ensure effective implementation of the Safety Management System. To ensure continual improvement is facilitated using quality tool, Quality Management System, Total Productive Management, Safety policy. Soft Skills Good communication & leadership skills. Active Ingredient Identification: Identify and evaluate novel active ingredients, including peptides, metabolites, and signaling molecules, along with their applications in agriculture, particularly in the development of pesticides, nematicides, fungicides, and herbicides. Production Method Development: Develop production methods for active ingredients and their formulations, ensuring scalability and compliance with industry standards. Soil Microbiome Engineering: Engage in soil microbiome engineering to enhance crop productivity and sustainability. Advanced Molecular Techniques: Perform advanced molecular biology techniques such as recombinant cloning, genome editing, and recombinant knockouts in plants and microbes, as well as maintain detailed records and data. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Prepare and execute established methods and SOPs to ensure consistent and high-quality results. What we are looking for: Masters/Ph.D. in Plant biology, crop science, agriculture biotechnology, Agri-input science, molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology, synthetic biology or related fields. 3 to 9 years of experience in academic, Agri-biotech companies, or biotechnology industries for Agri-input formulations. Experience in advanced technologies like RNAi and other recombinant technologies for agriculture science. Experience in developing novel bio-based formulations for crop improvement and crop protection. Experience in working with multiple active ingredients for agri-input bio-formulations. Strong grasp of fundamental plant molecular biology techniques is essential. Demonstrated ability to work with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and technical environment. The ideal candidate should have expertise in solid-state fermentation (SSF) processes for the production of biopesticides. This role involves optimizing fermentation conditions, ensuring product quality, and scaling up production processes to meet industry standards. Key Responsibilities SSF Process Optimization : Develop and optimize solid-state fermentation processes to produce biopesticides, focusing on parameters such as substrate selection, moisture content, temperature, and aeration. Microbial Cultivation : Cultivate microorganisms on solid substrates like wheat bran, rice husk, and other agro-industrial wastes, ensuring optimal growth and sporulation. Quality Control : Monitor and maintain the quality of the biopesticide products through regular sampling and analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Scale-Up Production : Assist in scaling up laboratory-scale SSF processes to pilot and industrial scales, ensuring consistent product quality and yield. Qualifications Education : Masters degree in microbiology, Agricultural Microbiology, or a related field. Experience : 1-2 years of experience in biopesticide production, solid state production, preferably in the Agro-Biotech industry focusing on biopesticides. Technical Skills : Proficiency in solid-state fermentation techniques. Experience with microbial cultivation on solid substrates. Familiarity with quality control methods for biopesticide products. Knowledge : Understanding biopesticide production processes and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with the use of agro-industrial wastes as substrates in SSF.
