Metocean Specialist

As a Metocean Engineer at Quest Global, your role will involve the preparation, procurement, interpretation, and analysis of measured and hindcast metocean data sets. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and contributing to metocean reports, data acquisition, design basis documents, and site conditions assessments. Collaborating effectively with the central metocean team will be essential to drive best practices in modeling and measurement of metocean criteria. Additionally, you will liaise with external regulatory and standards bodies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, procure, interpret, and analyze measured and hindcast metocean data sets - Plan, manage, and contribute to metocean reports, data acquisition, design basis documents, and site conditions assessments - Collaborate with the central metocean team to drive best practices in modeling and measurement of metocean criteria - Liaise with external regulatory and standards bodies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards - Support metocean and floating LiDAR measurement campaigns, working closely with measurement team, contractors, and internal stakeholders - Contribute to the development of technical specifications for metocean equipment and services - Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience in a similar role - Experience in the application of numerical models such as CFD, atmospheric, waves, or ocean circulation - In-depth knowledge of instrument limitations and configurations for measuring wind, wave, and current - Naturally inquisitive with a desire for a fundamental understanding of metocean processes - Strong stakeholder management skills - Excellent coding skills, ideally in Python and/or MATLAB - Proficiency in English (written and verbal) - Ability to manage time effectively - Ability to work independently and stay motivated without direct supervision - Degree in oceanography, meteorology, or engineering, or a closely aligned discipline,
