MET Bulk Management and Fabrication Specialist

As a Materials Engineering Supervisor at Bechtel, you will be responsible for supervising a team of materials engineering personnel, estimating project staffing needs, and scheduling and assigning work. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will ensure the integrity and compliance of project materials. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform assessments of supplier welding capabilities/competencies - Develop/Review material selection philosophy reports and material selection diagrams - Develop/Review technical specifications for materials and joining operations - Assist engineering disciplines in preparation/review of data sheets and requisition packages - Review technical bids - Review Mechanical WPS/PQR/WPQRs, Data Sheets, P&IDs & LDTs - Provide post-award technical assistance to requisitioning engineers - Plan and conduct evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering practices - Devise practical approaches to solving materials engineering and welding problems - Coordinate technical issues with MET specialists **Qualification Required:** - Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience - Sound knowledge of material damage mechanisms associated with petrochemical plants and power plants - Knowledge of international materials standards and pressure vessel and piping fabrication codes - Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of Materials Engineering - Ability to correlate work with other engineering disciplines As a part of an international MET team at Bechtel, you will also need to have a basic knowledge of other materials related technologies including welding, nondestructive examination, paint and coatings, and thermal insulation.
