MET Bulk Management and Fabrication Specialist

You will be supervising a team of Materials Engineering personnel, estimating project staffing needs, and scheduling and assigning work. Your responsibilities will include preparing discipline estimates and work plans, reviewing and approving the development of methods for construction material manufacturing, molding, and use, and ensuring the integrity and compliance of project materials through your leadership and technical expertise. - Perform assessments of supplier welding capabilities/competencies - Develop/Review material selection philosophy reports and material selection diagrams - Develop/Review technical specifications for materials and joining operations - Assist engineering disciplines in preparation/review of data sheets and requisition packages - Review technical bids - Review Mechanical WPS/PQR/WPQRs, Data Sheets, P&IDs & LDTs - Provide post award technical assist to requisitioning engineers - Plan and conduct evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering practices - Devise practical approaches to solving materials engineering and welding problems - Coordinate technical issues with MET specialists - Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience - Sound knowledge of material damage mechanisms associated with petrochemical plants and power plants - Knowledge of international materials standards and pressure vessel and piping fabrication codes - Broad working knowledge the principles and practices of Materials Engineering - Ability to correlate work with other engineering disciplines Bechtel, since 1898, has completed over 25,000 projects in 160 countries, serving Infrastructure; Nuclear, Security & Environmental; Energy; Mining & Metals, and the Manufacturing and Technology markets.
